    This is the official web site for the American Academy of Pediatrics, which is very active in promoting child health. The site is updated regularly with information and has additional links to a wide range of sites pertinent to Pediatric issues.
  • Kids Growth
    This site has an excellent section for families that contains information on a great variety of topics. There is a section called TeenGrowth which is for adolescents and addresses many subjects of concern to that age group.
  • U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
    The website for the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is a good source of information on issues related to child safety, with reports on product recalls and a large collection of documents on topics ranging from bike and scooter safety to hazards around the home. It includes a section for children aimed at teaching them about safety.
  • Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
    This website has a section for families titled "Your Child's Health" which contains advice on parenting and safety issues and information on a variety of common illnesses and emergencies. There is also an "Index of Medical Conditions" section which provides additional information on a wide variety of topics relevant to children's health care.
  • Centers for Disease Control
    The CDC website has a wealth of information on infectious diseases and on injury and illness prevention. In the Travelers' Health section you can find health and safety recommendations for travel anywhere in the world. Health Topics A-Z is an index which provides links to information on the website concerning a large number of infectious diseases and health issues. There is even a Hoaxes and Rumors section, which tries to correct misinformation from assorted health-related stories that appear on the Internet and elsewhere.

    This site provides information to all those affected by food allergies and anaphylaxis.
  • KidsMeds
    This site provides parents with detailed information about their child's medications. KidsMeds is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing pediatric drug information to parents. The site is run by registered pharmacists trained in pediatric pharmacy.
  • National Safe Kids Campaign
    The National Safe Kids Campaign is a national organization dedicated to the prevention of unintentional childhood injury. This site provides a broad range of information on child safety, safety regulations, and recent product recalls.
  • Zero to Three
    This site focuses on the development of your child during the important first three years of life. Zero to Three is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to strengthen and support families, practitioners, and communities to promote the healthy development of babies and toddlers.
  • Bright Futures
    The Bright Futures site provides educational materials, tools related to health supervision, and developmental and general health guidelines for children and adolescents. Bright Futures is guided by the Health Resources and Services Administration's Maternal and Child Health Bureau, with support from the Medicaid Bureau of the Health Care Financing Administration.
